British artist and activist who made a book with a selection of the first about 25
years of work: gouaches, pastels, illustrations drawings and photo collages, which bear some resemblance to the photomontages of John HEARTFIELD and Hannah HÖCH. Gee VAUCHER was part of the legendary anarchist punk-band Crass, not on stage but by designing the album covers, posters etc. and in providing the lighting during the performances for instance. Just before she already started to make The International Anthem, a punk fanzine, of which she “compiled 5 issues, only three made it into print”(page 22). This copy with a grateful dedication by Gee VAUCHER from (’99”). Artistbook.
