First German edition, one year after the original Dutch edition with the title
“Bagara”(“buffalo”). 141 photos, of which 11 in color. A first part of an accompanied an annual French inspection tour in remote region in Central Africa, with photos of the people he met and rituals and ceremonies he attended, the second part – titled “Safari” - with photos of the hunting of “wild animals”. Designed by Jurriaan Schrofer. Jan Vrijman interviewed Ed van der Elsken and wrote a text (translated into German) with a lot of information about the photos reproduced in the book, one can find in a separate booklet.
