First edition. Love at the Left Bank, a love story invented by Ed VAN DER ELSKEN, with 216 black & white photos mostly of the Australian artist Vali MYERS (1930-2003) he made in some Parisian streets and bars, also frequented by outsiders around 1950. Designed by Jurriaan Schrofer, who called it a “beeldroman” (“a photo-novel”). With this publication, also published in English (somewhat censored) and German in 1956, the young Dutch photographer became internationally known.
