One of 300 copies of the hardback edition. 62 photos, taken between 1988 and 1990, printed in duo-tone, of parts of human constructions in the former mining region in the north of France, marked by the time and people. The book begins with a line of poetry by the Dutch poet Gerrit Achterberg: “I must follow the dead traces; hieroglyphes of life”. Designed by Reynoud Homan. Printed by Rosbeek BV. This copy of his first self-published book, has been signed by Paul den HOLLANDER.
