First edition of 1300 copies. A selection of 113 black & white photos of classified and preserved dried remains of plants and some botanical paintings, taken between 1992 and 1994 in the"treasure chambers" of a number of Botanic institutions in Europe (Barcelona, Paris and Leiden). With quotes from different books, written by Carl Linnaeus (famous Swedish biologist and physician, 1707-1778), translated into French and Dutch. Designed by Reynoud Homan. A tribute to nature as a “Urformen der Kunst” revisited. This publication won the biennial Kees Scherer Prize for the best photo book. This copy has been signed by Paul den HOLLANDER. Artist’s book.
